London, 14 April 2016 – Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust’s analytics solution supported by Concentra Analytics and Tableau software has been shortlisted for “The use of Information Technology to drive value in non-clinical support services” category for this year’s HSJ Value in Healthcare Award.
The HSJ Value in Healthcare Awards evening, which will be held at Manchester Central alongside the HSJ Value in Healthcare Congress on the 24th May 2016 is a renowned event that highlights best practice and innovation across UK healthcare.
Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK’s largest combined community and mental health trusts, has implemented a solution recognised to add outstanding value and quality to non-clinical support services in UK healthcare. In less than six months, the project has empowered the 7,000 staff at the Trust to generate daily personalised reports that provide timely, accurate, and useful patient information. The result has led to faster and better healthcare provision for patients.
“To be shortlisted for this award represents the important contribution data and analytics can make to improve patient care” said Simon Beaumont, Head of Information at Southern Health. “The success of this project is a fantastic example of the benefits strong partnerships can bring to healthcare and patient outcomes with Concentra’s industry expertise and Tableau’s innovative analytics technology playing a vital role in the success of this project.”
Adrian Downing, Healthcare Director at Concentra comments, “Southern Health is leading the way in becoming a data-driven organization to deliver a step-change in patient care. Data-driven organizations which use data in a dynamic way will stand apart from their competitors as more complex information is able to reach those individuals that can improve internal ways of working and front-line clinical decisions.”
Southern Health’s work is helping to transform how healthcare organizations manage and use data across the UK. NHS England has recognised their solution as an example of best practice within the NHS Vanguard programme. The work Southern Health has done to visualise Emergency Admission data across 4 of the 5 Acute Hospitals in Hampshire has been recognised as being best in class and exemplary of innovation.
